Jonathan K. Driggs, Attorney at Law
Jonathan has nearly 30 years of experience focused exclusively on the practice of employment law. He has advised and represented employers of almost every size and industry-type throughout the country on a broad range of issues, including: EEO, sexual harassment, ADA, FMLA and other leave laws, wage & hour laws (federal and state) termination decisions and other complex employee-relations issues, workplace investigations, drafting and reviewing employment agreements and policies, NLRA, IRCA and many other federal and state employment laws. In addition to his regular practice, Jonathan spends much of his time presenting a popular series of employment law-related seminars to managers, executives and HR professionals throughout the country (and as far away as Kuwait).
Jonathan graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 1992 and became a member of the Utah State Bar Association. Upon graduation, he spent three years working for the Anti-Discrimination and Labor Division of the Utah Labor Commission enforcing employment discrimination laws and managing a team of investigators.
Jonathan is known for his balanced, “big-picture” approach that allows him to keep his client’s business objectives in mind while creating legally compliant solutions. As a popular seminar presenter and speaker, Jonathan consistently receives the highest marks for his ability to translate “legalese” into clear, concise explanations—and for his relaxed, humor-filled presentation style.
Jonathan’s pro bono work includes serving as a member of the Career Service Council for Utah County Government (an appeals board for employee termination decisions). Jonathan is also a guest lecturer on employment law at the BYU Marriott School’s MBA and EMBA Programs and the University of Utah.
Please be aware that as an employer-side employment attorney, Jonathan does not represent employees.
Testimonials
“I have been a client of Jonathan’s for many years. He has presented his Employment Law for Managers Seminar (ELMS) to my leadership teams at every company for which I have worked. Typically, managers get very nervous about attending any course that has the word “law” in it. They instantly think they are going to be sitting through a long, dry and boring class about everything they can’t do to avoid a lawsuit.
However, I can confidently tell my leaders that they will walk away from Jonathan’s seminar feeling empowered and knowledgeable from a hands-on perspective about things they need to know to effectively lead a team. The feedback from my managers about ELMS has always been extremely positive. I have leaders who still remember attending the training and rave about how much they learned. I highly recommend ELMS to any company that is looking for a way to help their managers lead more effectively.”

“Jonathan is great resource and an excellent instructor regarding Employment Law. Once a company has participated in one of his seminars, they wish to have him back. There is none better.”
I met Jonathan over a decade ago during his Employment Law for Managers Seminar at Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix. His seminar was the best I have ever attended on the topic. Still is, as a matter of fact. Because of his ability to train and connect individually with others, I have partnered with Jonathan consistently over the years to deliver multiple seminars to both managers and employees. We recently added his Respect in the Workplace Seminar. Many of our leaders in the organization said the time flew by, even on a very difficult subject!
Jonathan Driggs presented his Employment Law for Managers course to all management personnel at Utah County Government. The response from our supervisors was overwhelmingly positive. We provide supervisory training every year, and several participants said this was the best training they had ever received. Mr. Driggs’ ability to explain the complex material was rated as “excellent” by 93% of the supervisors, and many commented about Jonathan’s ability to make the subject matter interesting and specifically relevant to situations they face on the job. The course manual will serve as a valuable reference tool in the future. I would recommend this course for any group of supervisors!
Jonathan Driggs has provided our company with some awesome trainings. His many years of experience pays off during his presentations and makes them very powerful. He has a very diverse Employment Law background, so he is able to field any type of question from a participant. He is a phenomenal presenter with a down to earth attitude. He stays calm, cool and collected when strong questions and scenarios are thrown his way – nothing ruffles his feathers. Thank you Jonathan for furthering our employee’s knowledge on today’s pressing corporate issues.
It has been my great pleasure and fortune to work with Jonathan Driggs for the past 5 years. He has been a provider of training to Cookietree regarding Respect in the Workplace/Sexual Harassment Training. I have known Jonathan for more than 5 years and benefited from his training in other legal seminars which I have attended over the years.
In my role as director of human resources Jonathan has been our ‘go to person’ whenever we needed training in this area for our employees. Jonathan has proven himself to be knowledgeable, confident and practical in his approach and presentation of this delicate, yet critical subject. Our employees have found him to be engaging, knowledgeable and entertaining while still reminding them of their responsibility towards respecting others in the workplace.
I would highly recommend Jonathan to any company who needs training of this nature. He has presented for us every other year since 2013 and never disappointed us. He’s a great resource and makes himself available to answer questions, provide meaningful suggestions and helpful resources to management and employees alike.
We look forward to the next occasion in working with Jonathan!
